I laughed, a lot, when I read about Amy Schumer’s engagement session skit because I LOVE posing people under trees (Google the skit if you haven’t seen it already).
Trees create a natural frame, they’re everywhere, and you can likely find some without other people under them. So when I read the article I had to tell my friend Marielle since only a few short weeks earlier I had taken her and her fiancé Norm’s photos in a few locations, including amongst a bazillion trees. To note: these trees are in a significant location near Marielle’s family home BUT they are trees nonetheless. We also went to the Rideau Canal Locks which is where we will start this engagement fun.
Marielle and Norm met ten years ago. They were working in Ottawa at the same place and became fast friends but they were both very young and timing just wasn’t right for these two souls to connect. However, they stayed in touch as friends and almost five years later timing WAS right and they DID connect and now they’ve decided to spend the rest of their lives living out their dreams together, continuing to travel the world, celebrating family (one thing I love so much about these two they treasure tradition and family so much), and just generally making the world a better place.
I cannot wait for their January wedding. I don’t think I’m quite totally prepared for how beautiful it will be. Congratulations on your engagement you two and thank you for having me along for the ride. xo
If I only knew the creative director at Vanity Fair a little bit better this might be the next cover shot. Am I right or am I right?
