Every summer tourists visit the courtyards in Ottawa’s Byward Market and imitate the bear statue near where Heather works. The bear is where Heather and Alexa shared their first date, first kiss, and where Alexa proposed. So it was a given that their wedding portraits would be taken their before zipping them off to Table 40 at Fraser Cafe to get married.
These two met at a Halloween party. Heather was dressed as Super Gay and Alexa didn’t get dressed up at all. I was happy to see that on their wedding day however Alexa did decide to dress up a little bit since at our first meeting she had said that Heather ‘might’ be able to get her into a cardigan.
The energy at their ceremony and reception was palpable and the venue was a perfect spot to celebrate with their ‘top 40’. Congratulations you two. You are my first gay wedding and I can’t imagine two more wonderful women to share that honour with.
