A short drive up the winding, fist-clenching, switchback roads outside of Barcelona, Spain, brings you to the magical Montserrat mountain.
This beautiful pink-stoned national park is home to the Benedictine Monastery, Santa Maria de Montserrat. I’m told there is a boys choir that performs here daily that could melt even the coldest heart. Unfortunately we did not arrive at the right time to hear them. Next time.
As I hiked up the trails I marvelled at the views high above the clouds and fell in love with the beautiful forest that makes up the park. I think it felt even more mysterious because the weather was unpredictable. At times rainy and dreary, the clouds would then part and show you just how high up you were. Truly a must-see if you’re travelling in the Catalonia region.
Anne, how amazingly beautiful. I went to barcelona last year but I didn’t go to Montserrat, and you’ve made me regret it…possibly for the rest of my life.
Your pictures are so beautiful, I can’t stop looking, even though I should be
working. You have an amazing talent, Anne! So, so beautiful. Your work reminds me of this quote:
“The person born with a talent they are meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it.” Your talent makes everyone who touches it happy.
Kathryn, I’m not sure I deserve that quote but I’ll take it. Thank you for your kind kind words and constant support. xoxo
Yay, a new blog post! Wow, these pictures are absolutely breathtaking, Anne-Marie! It must have been so amazing to experience this scenery first hand. Also, I must say that I agree 100% with the post above! So happy you’re using your wonderful talent 🙂
Karolina, it was! I may have done a little dance at the top of this mountain I was so happy 🙂 I’m excited to get to share my photography with you in October!!!
