A year ago today marked three big moments for AMBphoto. One: Madeline & Sean tied the knot and we got to shoot it! Two: We shot our first wedding in Toronto. Three: Kelly and I worked our first wedding together. I can’t believe a year has gone by as this all seems like it only happened yesterday.

Madeline and Sean’s wedding was a blast. Seriously. These two know how to have fun and definitely know how to throw a party. Their reception was a bbq theme and they hit the nail on the head in so many respects with thee best ribs and diy sundae’s. The food was DELICIOUS, the speeches were touching and heartfelt AND funny and the bride and groom were two of the happiest I’ve ever seen. Happy anniversary you two!

From the bride: Sean and I met as awkward teenagers, at a leadership camp for high school students from across Canada. We were casual friends (msn messenger, anyone?) for 5 years before the twists and turns of life brought us to an opportunity to re-connect in person. As tends to happen with kindred spirits, we hit it off again, and a walk in Vancouver turned into an afternoon and evening of laughing and zero conversation lags, which turned into 7 years of dating, a wedding, a big party, and a whole lot of love.

I love weddings. I love weddings. I love that they are a celebration of two people’s choice to be together, and I love the opportunity that a wedding creates for two people to take aspects of the day, chew them up and spit them out into something they are excited to share with their favourite people. We wanted to create a wedding that was elegant, fun, and very “us.” We may have let the fun and the “us” out shadow the elegance slightly… We did, after all, end up with our guests wearing bibs, and a mini photo shoot with our dog… but have no regrets.

This is one of the most touching moments ever from a wedding reception. Madeline’s Maid of Honor gave her a gift. A note she had written while Madeline was talking to Sean after the re-connected, it says, “Just take a breath and ask if he’s free this weekend.” Clearly M had no idea this note had been saved. So so special.Toronto Wedding Argonaut Rowing ClubToronto Wedding Argonaut Rowing ClubToronto Wedding Argonaut Rowing Club

  1. Anne-Marie, you were a major contributor to that wonderful day. Your shots were all so imaginative and artistic; you are an expert at crowd control; and you and Kelly worked together so seamlessly and unobtrusively that we hardly knew you were there most of the time.
The photos are absolute treasures, and we continue to marvel at your talent.
    Gratefully, the MOB
