Bloomfields Flowers

I love flowers and I can’t wait for Spring to plant hundreds of them around my house.

Recently, I received two gorgeous flower arrangements from Bloomfields Flowers in Ottawa, Ontario. For my wedding in 2009 I hired Bloomfields to create our bouquets, boutonnieres and arrangements and since then I’ve hired them to make arrangements for wedding shows and other regular flower-giving occasions. Why? Because Virginia and her crew always blow me away but this time in particular I had to make sure everyone got to see what they did.

The first bouquet is one of my favorite colour combos – white and green AND it has cotton in it! What a great idea. I love how the cotton adds texture and interest to this it and I also super love that it’s in a rectangular terracota vase which I think makes the whole look even more earthy and unique.

The second bouquet is such a pretty explosion of colour and the thistle is awesome doncha think? The orange flower is ranunculus, one of my all-time favorite flowers. I love how it’s all scrunched up but still looks delicate, that the petals are super soft and that it comes in all sorts of colours. Love ’em. Any of these flowers would look so beautiful in a bridal bouquet.

I can’t emphasize enough how flowers can make a wedding even more beautiful than you could have ever imagined. They give that punch of colour, elegance or fun to a beautiful gown and dress up a room like no other decor can. I know the price tags on these beauties can be a bit scary at times but take my advice and go for it. I promise your photos will be even more beautiful for it.

Bloomfields Flowers can be found at 101 Fourth Avenue in the Glebe in Ottawa, Ontario.

  1. I have seen several of your green and white Bloomfield arrangements and I am totally a convert. Well, to be honest, you had me after the first one I saw. So fresh and soft. Adore the cotton in this particular arragement. Totally a winner.

Are the green and white ones that look like roses actually roses? Or little ornamental cabbages? I want to reach out and touch the petals. To die for.

  2. Thanks for your comment Mary. I recently spoke with Heather at Bloomfields who made the arrangement and said that as she was making it a bride came in and exclaimed that she wanted exactly the green and white combination for her bridal bouquet. So fun!
